Who We Are

Witch Kitch is a one-witch operation, built with a lot of late nights, a strong tea habit, and a genuine belief that life works better when you stop fighting your own rhythms. Occasionally a trusted friend or freelancer helps out, but mostly it's just one witch at a laptop curating and running the show. All witches are good witches!

Section 1 — What Information We Collect

When you make a purchase, we collect the personal information needed to complete your order — your name, address, and email address.

When you browse our store, we automatically receive your IP address, which helps us understand things like your browser type and operating system.

If you sign up for our store newsletter or marketing emails, we collect your email address for that purpose. You can opt out at any time.

If you sign up for the Witch Kitch Weekly energy planning newsletter, your information is stored separately in our subscriber database (Airtable) and used solely to generate and deliver your personalized weekly email.

Section 2 — Consent

When you provide personal information to complete a transaction — placing an order, arranging delivery, or processing a return — you consent to us collecting and using it for that purpose.

If we want to use your information for anything else, like marketing, we'll ask for your explicit consent first or give you a clear way to opt out.

To withdraw consent at any time, contact us at hello@witchkitch.shop or unsubscribe directly from any email we've sent you.

Section 3 — Disclosure

We will only disclose your personal information if required by law or if you violate our Terms of Service.

Section 4 — Shopify

Our store runs on Shopify Inc., which stores your data on secure servers protected by firewalls. If you pay directly through Shopify's payment gateway, your credit card data is encrypted to PCI-DSS standards — the security standard maintained by Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover. Payment data is deleted once your transaction is complete.

Section 5 — Third-Party Services

We use a small number of third-party tools to run the shop and deliver our services. These include:

Shopify — e-commerce platform and payment processing

MailerLite — email marketing and subscriber forms for store updates

MailerSend — delivery of the Witch Kitch Weekly newsletter

Airtable — subscriber data storage for the energy planning newsletter

Appstle — subscription management

Each of these providers has their own privacy policies and only accesses your data to the extent needed to perform their services. If you're outside the US, your data may be processed in a different jurisdiction — including the United States — and may be subject to that country's laws.

Once you leave our site or are redirected to a third-party, this Privacy Policy no longer applies.

Section 6 — Security

We take reasonable precautions to protect your personal information from loss, misuse, or unauthorized access. Credit card information is encrypted via SSL and stored with AES-256 encryption. We follow all PCI-DSS requirements. No method of internet transmission is 100% secure, but we follow industry best practices.

Section 7 — Cookies

We use cookies to keep your shopping experience running smoothly. Here's what's in use:

_session_id — stores session info like your referrer and landing page

_shopify_visit — tracks visit numbers for internal stats (no personal data stored)

_shopify_uniq — counts visits from a single customer

cart — stores your cart contents for up to 2 weeks

_secure_session_id — session security token

storefront_digest — used to verify access if the store is password protected

You can opt out of cookies in your browser settings at any time.

Section 8 — Age of Consent

By using this site, you confirm that you are at least the age of majority in your state or province, or that you have consented on behalf of any minor dependents using the site.

Section 9 — Currency Conversion

If you're shopping from outside the US, we allow third parties to use your IP address to determine your location for currency conversion purposes. Your selected currency is stored in a temporary session cookie that clears when you close your browser.

Section 10 — Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy at any time. Changes take effect immediately upon posting. If we make significant changes, we'll flag it on this page so you know what's new.

If Witch Kitch is ever acquired or merged with another company, your information may transfer to the new owners for the purpose of continuing to serve you.
